As archives grow, ECHO grows. Dynamically, cost-effectively and massively
Key Features
- Energy Efficient
ECHO is highly energy efficient because it is cooler running, giving you performance, while saving on energy and therefore cost. - Easily Scalable
Easily scalable with minimal downtime. With dedicated expansion modules, ECHO can be increased to 2.8 Petabytes. - BlueShift
Technology developed by GB Labs to deliver consistent high performance through Ethernet. Using standard sharing protocols and no client side software, NAS convenience meets SAN performance. - CORE 4
Feature rich operating system full of workflow tools designed for real-world media environments. These work seamlessly in the background allowing you to do what you do best – create. - Performance
ECHO is a nearline system with the performance of a failover editing platform. - Platform Agnostic
GB Labs' storage is developed for total cross platform compatibility, allowing PC, Mac and Linux platforms to collaborate and share data freely and efficiently.

Ideal for Render Farms, Disaster Recovery, Digital Shelf and Instant Access media storage.
How ECHO can help you
Data security is essential, as is an instantly-available media archive. Our scalable ECHO can fulfil both roles in a state-of-the-art nearline solution. ECHO can be housed locally or remotely, it can provide disaster recovery by replicating your entire Tier 1 media assets. It also has the speed and capacity to hold your growing archive, giving users instant access to every file over standard Ethernet networks.
ECHO is a fast nearline storage system for:
- Fast data back-up
- Disaster recovery
- Secondary graphics storage
- Online media archiving
Performance
Unlike object-based technology which lacks network performance, our ECHO nearline systems run at high speed, vital for broadcasters or post houses working to tight deadlines. As ECHO can sustain multiple streams of HD video, it can even stand in as a failover online platform in the event of central storage downtime.
Capacity Expansion
ECHO supports capacity expansion by connecting ECHO EX (16 disks) to the unit. Storage size can be increased dynamically, meaning that data can stay in place as the capacity changes and downtime is not required. Additional storage is SAS connected and allows the scaling of a single volume or multiples as required, expansion is easy to carry out and happens instantly using pre-formatted ECHO EX units.
ECHO EX offers large storage sizes up to 224TB per unit, allowing total expansion of the ECHO to grow up to 4PB.
